DETAILS:

Union Bank has been bucking industry trends. It hasn't received any government relief money; instead, it has gone private and is expanding. These factors, along with the economy, have affected the bank's compensation practices -- what they do and how they do it.

Kennedy and Mattson will describe how the bank has benefited since automating their employee compensation practices three years ago. They will discuss the before and after of automating compensation, the successful and not-so-successful programs and what drove both. They will also present the challenges of and techniques for dealing with mergers and acquisitions and their impact on compensation. Kennedy will also discuss the challenges of going private today and what he sees happening in the future as Union Bank expands.
