Workshop on Bridging Cultures in Mexico's Automotive Supply Chain to Be Held Nov. 6 in Troy, MI

TROY, MI--(Marketwired - October 28, 2015) - Culture in a foreign country can often be one of the most challenging factors to understand; however, it is frequently the most critical aspect as it can explain crucial behaviors and help avoid costly misunderstandings. Automotive industry executives working with Mexico can learn how to improve operations performance by participating in the upcoming workshop presented by Sam Yankelevitch, CEO, Express Lingo Solutions. In the half-day workshop, Yankelevitch will share practical knowledge, tools and tips to understanding how Mexican culture drives behaviors and how to improve performance and execution in the automotive industry. Yankelevitch will discuss stereotypes and changes happening today in Mexican traditions which impact business practices. He will also present a framework of four cultural dimensions that assist in understanding the differences between the two cultures: individualism vs. collectivism, power distance, high vs. low context, and monochronic vs. polychronic time. He will explain the rationale for investing time in forming personal relationships with Mexican partners and strategies for ensuring messages are clearly understood. Most importantly, Yankelevitch will present methodologies for incorporating lean concepts such as standard work, PDCA, root cause analysis and A3 thinking to improve intercultural communication. Participants in the workshop will learn how to avoid misunderstandings and reduce waste rooted in language, culture and distance. The workshop, sponsored by GlobalBusinessProfessor.com and GlobalAutoIndustry.com, will be held at Automation Alley Headquarters in Troy, Michigan, on November 6.
