World Health Enriching Calgarian's Health and Wallets With the $10,000 Health to Wealth Giveaway This Weekend


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 13, 2011) - World Health, in partnership with Virgin Radio, Extreme Pita and Simply for Life, will give away $10,000 this Sunday, May 15th at 3pm to the winner of the Health to Wealth giveaway.

500 Calgarians participated in the 13-week weight loss competition by focusing on eating healthier and being more active (both in and out of the gym). Many of the finalists have lost over 40 pounds or over 18% of their total body weight. "It has become more than just weight loss, but rather life changing health shifts that I feel will last a life time," says Shane Kups, who developed the weekly workout for participants.

Join Olympians CatrionaLe May Doan and Earle Connor on Sunday to hear their inspirational stories and find out what it takes to become a champion.

CatrionaLe May Doan isa Canadian speed skater and double Olympic gold medallist, in 1998 and 2002. Catriona was named Canadian Female Athlete of the Year on three occasions (1998, 2001 and 2002) and won the Lou Marsh Trophy, given annually to Canada's top athlete, in 2002.

Earle Connor, another Canadian legend,had his left leg amputated above the knee at just three months old but he never shied away from sports and won Paralympic gold in 2000 at the Sydney games. Earle will speak about overcoming barriers and what his next goals are.
