Rock Bands & Their Fans Unite for Fundraising Concert in Mississauga

Close to 2000 students are expected to flood the floor of Mississauga's Hershey Centre for the "End Poverty Concert". Can this one event put an end to poverty? No, but as one 14-year old girl said, "it's a start - and if we can raise some money and get the word out, that's awesome!" After years of doing the World Vision 30 Hour Famine, high school students from Trinity Anglican Church decided that they wanted to host an event that would share their passion for helping those in need with students throughout the entire city, and raise money for the World Vision 30 Hour Famine. The group, named "Under The Influence" planned the 2006 event at the Hershey Centre. Last year, participants who attended the event fundraised close to $20,000! Now in its second year, this annual event at the same location attracts students from Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, and as far away as London.

Tickets are only $15 and are available through Ticketmaster. The Official Website for the concert is hosted at: www.myspace.com/streetsville30hourfamine. All proceeds are donated to the World Vision 30 Hour Famine.
