SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 2, 2014) - ARM TechCon™ 2014 -- wot.io™, a data service exchange for connected device platforms, today announced new strategic partnerships in a dramatic expansion of the company's IoT data service exchange platform.

Following a recently announced partnership with ARM®, whose architecture powers more than 50 billion chips shipped worldwide, wot.io is growing its network to serve a broad range of key industries. This relationship and the eight new partnerships highlight the value of wot.io's frictionless, simple IoT environment. These major providers of cloud infrastructure, connectivity, and analytics technologies will each extend the functionalities available within the wot.io exchange.

Partnerships announced today include:

  • Apstrata: A cloud-based solution, Apstrata provides a backend for IoT, mobile, and HTML5 development and offers an extensive suite of easy-to-use web services, such as identity management, content and media repository services, sophisticated data querying and full-text search, social media integration, messaging, push notification, device management, and server-side business logic
  • DataArt: A software development firm, DataArt equips companies to build and optimize custom software solutions
  • DeviceHive: An open-source M2M platform, DeviceHive offers the building blocks for companies to build their own M2M solutions
  • NGData™: NGData's Lily solution for IoT services ensures the ability to immediately store, retrieve, and analyze all data for timely delivery of relevant offers and content

With the expansion of its partner ecosystem, the wot.io environment will deliver out-of-the-box integration and shift the focus from infrastructure enablement to business monetization. Companies will be able to select the newly added service partners to integrate seamlessly with various data publishers, enabling data to move fluidly and intuitively within the exchange ecosystem. This open operating environment will eliminate the complexities of multiple standards, device platforms and connectivity portals so companies can use the best vendors for specific services ranging from data analytics to cloud storage and hosting.

"There are an estimated five billion intelligent devices in existence today that have yet to be connected, and another five billion to be built," said James Brehm, Founder and Technology Evangelist at James Brehm & Associates. "With the exponential growth of this market, there is an urgent need for data and services to easily speak to each other. Only then will businesses see the true and total transformation promised by IoT."

"The IoT market is plagued by fragmentation and complexity, and the mission of wot.io is to pave the way for innovation by eliminating those challenges," said Allen Proithis, President and Cofounder of wot.io. "Our technology, combined with our growing partner environment, will allow companies to explore new possibilities of data-driven services and insights. We are excited to see what solutions -- from smart cities to industrial applications -- will be developed as a result."
