WritingRoom.com Is Pleased to Announce Its First Writing Contest

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 27, 2008) - Got the WRITE stuff? WritingRoom.com -- the premier online community for both aspiring and accomplished writers to engage, share, encourage and appraise each other's work -- is going to make one author's dream come true with its first contest, WritingRoom's Author Launch Contest.

Eagerly accepting manuscripts from now through June 18, 2008, the talented winner of WritingRoom's Author Launch Contest will not only have their manuscript published but will also receive: copy and content editing; custom cover design; professionally written book cover synopsis; marketing kit; press packet and a national press release; retail bookstore distribution and retail return insurance; 20 copies of their book; a video interview by WritingRoom.com; and an invaluable half-hour phone conversation with New York Times Best Selling Author Jon Land.

This critical dialogue with screenwriter and novelist Jon Land, whom Bookviews recently called "the greatest thriller writer alive today," is an invaluable resource for the winner. Land is the author of twenty-six books (fifteen national bestsellers) and is also published in over fifty countries and six different languages. As there are currently almost seven million copies of his books in print, Jon has proven to be a master in the world of writing.

This writing competition will be discerningly judged by Lindsay Preston, CEO and creator (WritingRoom.com/lindsay) of WritingRoom.com, the aforementioned Mr. Land (WritingRoom.com/Jon_Land), Susan Ludsin, a retired literary professor from John Carroll University (WritingRoom.com/Susan_Ludsin), and Joel Pierson, a well respected editor from AuthorSolutions with more than 20 years of experience (WritingRoom.com/Joel_Pierson).

The manuscripts will be meticulously appraised for the quality of writing, the author's ability to engage the reader, originality of the author's voice, story and character development and its marketability. To enter simply email your manuscript (as an MS Word file attachment) to: Contest@WritingRoom.com. For all contest details check out www.WritingRoom.com.

WritingRoom.com wants to thank Wordclay.com for its generous participation in their first writing contest.

The winner will be announced July 9, 2008!
