CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - July 26, 2016) - W.S. Darley & Company recently partnered with H2OpenDoors, a project of Rotary Club, to successfully deploy Darley's solar and wind powered water treatment system, the SunSpring, in a Nepal community. The Darley SunSpring is a decentralized microbiological water purification system capable of producing 5,000 gallons of safe drinking water per day for 10 years.
Darley successfully installed the two SunSpring water filtration systems fundraised from last year's H2Open Golf Tournaments held in Illinois and California. The first SunSpring system was installed at the Surya Secondary School of 700 students and serves the surrounding village of 6000. The other system was installed at Chainpur, a small farming community of 2000, with the intent to start a water bottling nonprofit organization where all proceeds go towards the construction and operation of a health clinic for this impoverished community.
Come play, donate and participate in this year's 2nd Annual Darley H2Open on August 25th, 2016 at the Eaglewood Golf Course in Itasca, IL. We're excited to share our plans in February for our return to Nepal and also a brand new installation in Cuba 2017.
One lucky winner from our grand prize drawing will receive an all-expense paid trip to the Cuba expedition in April 2017. The winner will join the H2OpenDoors team in installing a SunSpring, visiting an eco-farm, dancing to the beat of the Buena Vista Social Club and participating in a networking gala with 150 Cuban entrepreneurs.
Darley and H2OpenDoors invite all Chicago-area golfers to participate in the H2Open. The tournament will take place August 25th from 11:00am-5:00pm at EagleWood golf course in Itasca, Illinois. To register for the event, visit the Darley Sign Up Page. If you cannot attend the event and would still like to make a tax-deductible donation, visit the Darley Donation Page.
