WSA Names 18 Individuals, Companies, Organizations as Finalists for 2007 Industry Achievement Awards

"Community Choice Award" Will Solicit Votes From General Public via the Web

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 19, 2007 --WSA, the state's oldest and largest technology trade organization focused on ensuring Washington State's leadership position in the digital economy, today announced the 18 finalists for the 12th annual Industry Achievement Awards, the annual technology awards gala that recognizes the state's most outstanding technology achievements in a variety of categories.

The 18 finalists make up six different categories, including:

--  Technology Innovator of the Year: Chris Diorio, Ph.D., Chairman and
    CTO, Impinj, Inc.; Bryan Mistele, President & CEO, Inrix; Rob Gilde, Vice
    President of Product Development, Lockdown Networks
--  Best Use of Technology in the Government or Nonprofit: OPSCAN -
    Olympic Public Safety Communications Alliance Network, PTSO of Washington,
    Tacoma Goodwill

"The WSA is focused on supporting technology innovators succeed and the WSA Industry Achievement Awards honor the great technology companies in Washington State," said Ken Myer, WSA president and chief executive officer. "These 18 finalists have proven to be among the premiere technology companies in this region."

Myer also announced a new twist for this year's awards ceremonies -- The Community's Choice Award. Beginning in February, the general public will be able to vote for its favorites through the WSA's Web site, Myer said more details on this unique award will be released shortly.

The annual awards banquet, which will take place March 21, 2007 at the Westin Hotel in Seattle, is considered to be one of the technology industry's most prestigious events and attracts more than 1,000 business and community leaders who drive the growth of Washington State's technology industry.
