Wyse Continues Asia Business Expansion

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA and SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 26, 2011) - Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, today announced the appointment of experienced technology industry executive, Charles Cote as Director of its Australian and New Zealand operations.

Cote is a former regional director for Australia and New Zealand at network security company, FireEye, regional director South Pacific for network security appliance specialist Fortinet, and country manager for Extreme Networks.

"I feel very fortunate to start in this role as cloud client computing displaces desktop personal computers at large organisations," said Cote. "IT and business leaders are embracing the reduced environmental footprint, lower total cost of ownership, improved security and greater reliability that cloud client computing delivers."

Cote said he had spent his first few weeks meeting customers, partners and distributors and developing a six- to twelve-month business plan for Wyse Technology's Australia and New Zealand business. "I plan to add new headcount in areas such as sales and engineering and we are preparing to consolidate our operations to a new head office in Sydney," he said.

Ward Nash, Wyse Technology General Manager Asia Pacific, welcomed Cote's appointment.

Wyse Technology's headcount in Asia Pacific has doubled over the last three to six months to meet demand. The Wyse business in this region grew 100 percent over the previous year, and it expects to at least repeat that result in 2011-12. This demand is coming from new clients, existing clients refreshing their Wyse deployments and the growing maturity of cloud computing and desktop virtualisation technologies.
