"The X Factor" Auditions Start Today at Newest MyStudio Locations in Los Angeles and New England

Simon Cowell's "THE X FACTOR" Expands Auditions With MyStudio® State-of-the-Art Audition Booths at the Westfield Culver City Mall and Foxwoods Resort Casino in National Audition Initiative

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 9, 2012) - Studio One Media, Inc. (OTCBB: SOMD) today announced that auditions for "The X Factor" begin today at its newly installed MyStudio® HD Recording Studio located at the Westfield Culver City Mall in Los Angeles, California and at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. The X Factor auditions are also now underway at MyStudios located in Honolulu, Phoenix, Nashville and New Jersey. Auditions at all locations are scheduled to run through April 15, 2012.

"We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to audition and MyStudio booths are another way for us to do this. These booths are studio quality, and we are going to be moving them to lots of cities across America over the next few weeks. You can find a list of all the cities where the studios will be on The X Factor website:," said Simon Cowell.

The X Factor is expanding its audition process to reach even more singers than any talent show ever before in its search to find the best new solo artists and vocal groups in America through its partnership with MyStudio. Anyone 12 years old or older will have the opportunity to use the state-of-the-art studios to record their a cappella audition video and state why they think they have what it takes to be the next $5 million recording contract winner. The studios allow X Factor hopefuls the opportunity to record a high quality X Factor audition video in a private recording studio environment. Vocalists will also be able to view their audition video and submit it directly into the competition right at the studio. MyStudio recording engineers are available at each location to assist with all aspects of the audition and submission process. MyStudios will be open for auditions an average of 11 hours a day for several weeks, allowing vocalists time to practice and plan for their auditions around work and school schedules.

"We are excited to extend our reach across America with the opening of new MyStudio locations in Los Angeles and New England and to once again be a part of The X Factor's search to discover the best singing talent in the US," said Larry Ryckman, CEO of MyStudio, Inc.

The MyStudio-X Factor finalists will advance directly to a "Judges Audition" round where they will perform live before Simon Cowell and The X Factor judges and a studio audience of thousands. Many X Factor finalists were discovered last season through MyStudio auditions including Simon Cowell's top three girl finalist "Drew."

This fall's No. 1 unscripted series discovered such diverse recording artists as winner Melanie Amaro, and finalists Astro, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Marcus Canty and Rachel Crow, who have all signed major deals with Sony Music.

Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid will return as judges to THE X FACTOR this fall on FOX. Additional judges to be announced.
