X-Treme Golf 'Competition from Hell' Premieres on CanWest Global TV

Elimination Golf Tournament Series is the Ultimate Test of a Golfer’s Passion; X-Treme Golf Airs Nationally on Global TV Sundays March 4 to April 8, 2007 prior to PGA and Masters’ Final Round Coverage

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Lifestyle Editor, Sports Editor, Tech/Telecomm Editor, Travel/Tourism Editor DUNDAS/ONTARIO/MEDIA ADVISORY--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 26, 2007) - X-Treme Golf TV Productions Inc. (www.x-tremegolf.tv), the producers of X-Treme Golf broadcast, multi-media and interactive digital properties, today announced the upcoming world premiere of the most grueling golf tournament ever staged for television - six days, six different golf courses, six different towns, eight amateur golfers, and only one winner. X-Treme Golf is an unpredictable six-day elimination amateur golf tournament designed to frustrate, provoke, exhaust and taunt players at every turn all captured on tape and now available for audiences across Canada to enjoy. The new six one-hour episodic X-Treme Golf series will air on CanWest's Global TV nationally on Sundays from March 4, 2007 to April 8, 2007 prior to PGA and Masters' final round coverage.

X-Treme Golf was shot on six world-class golf courses at several luxurious and adventurous accommodations during unpredictable October weather in southwestern Ontario. During the six episode series one player is eliminated on each show, another rewarded and the rest taken to a very nasty overnight experience. Many players face agonizing evenings without running water or showers, no heat, unpalatable meals and inhospitable sleeping conditions while others enjoy opulent, five star evenings in luxurious accommodations. Each vying for the ultimate prize - to be the first ever X-Treme Golf tournament champion.

"We wanted to stage a highly charged elimination tournament that would be akin to the golf holiday from hell - we got it and more," says Alan Aylward, Executive Producer of X-Treme Golf. "The mix of eight men and women competitors, all unknown to each other and all avid amateur golfers, became our hostages on an emotional roller coaster ride that becomes a life-altering pilgrimage. On X-Treme Golf they all got more than they bargained for and learned to expect the unexpected along the way. Challenged, determined and beat before hitting the greens - just the way golf was meant to be played."

X-Treme Golf challenges each competitor's golf skills, mental agility, physical stamina and emotional fortitude. It is the ultimate test of a golfer's passion for a game that is renowned for its addictive qualities. On the golf courses, competitors confront a variety of distractions and nuisances, like the bantering Hooter's caddies who tease and harass players in Episode One, and the brutal -10 degree Celsius weather and gale force winds in Episode Two. Competitors had no idea where they were going from one moment to the next or from the first hole to the eighteenth. The unexpected twists and turns, as well as a relentless travel itinerary, prompted a defiant sense of humour that is ultimately overshadowed by outrage when the pressure becomes too much. Each of the six X-Treme Golf episodes tells its own great story - when wrapped together for the complete series, and enhanced by a highly dramatic and very personal pressure cooker of a finale, the real essence of an everyday golfer's passion for the sport shines through.

Golfers should easily relate to what the competitors endure and non-golfing viewers will get an entertaining, often humorous insight into a game where Will Rogers noted that "…in golf you get so mad at yourself, you forget to hate your enemies."

Additionally, the X-Treme Golf series features a TV, online web and mobile interactive trivia challenge where audience members who follow each show in the series can enter into weekly X-Treme Golf contests for a chance to win prizes from our sponsors. A grand prize for an X-Treme Golf Tour for a foursome, including golf course fees and accommodations, will be awarded to one lucky viewer at the end of the series.
