Xandros SMB Server Beta Rolling Out

Diversity of Business Users to Test New Xandros SMB Server

TORONTO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 19, 2005 -- LinuxWorldCanada -- Xandros, the leading developer of easy-to-use Linux solutions, today announced the beta sign-up for their new, easy-to-manage SMB (Small Medium Business) Server. The Xandros SMB Server is built upon the new Xandros Management Console (xMC), which brings Windows-like ease of administration to the Linux server market.

"Many small to medium-sized businesses would like to migrate to secure, stable Linux-based servers, but lack the Linux or UNIX server administration experience to undertake the difficult task," said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. "With our new Xandros Management Console, Windows server administrators can now make the transition to Linux by using a familiar set of graphical tools."

"Building a SMB server is a very tricky business, and each organization comes with its own set of requirements," said Ming Poon, Xandros VP of Software Development. "We had to take many uses and configurations into account in developing our server toolset. Whether you need to set up an all-in-one server or multiple servers running a variety of services, xMC will automate many of your tasks and make administration a breeze."

Xandros is entering the final development phase of this exciting SMB server project and is looking for beta testers with all types of business application and service requirements, and all types of existing core server infrastructures including Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows 3003, and UNIX. The Xandros SMB Server is slated for release in late 2005.
