Xcellink Authenticates Issue of Canadian Patent for Mobile Commerce Payment System

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - September 8, 2009) - Xcellink International Inc. (OTCBB: XCEL), an advanced platform-independent developer of customer-centric payment systems and methodologies, today confirmed that it has been issued Canadian Patent 2,264,048, which is essentially identical to the already granted U.S. Patent # 7024385 titled 'Automated Electronic Funds Transfer System and Method,' which covers the automated data interchange to achieve transactions between customers (buyers) and merchants (sellers) over local wired or wireless links.

This provides Xcellink International Inc. with uniform Patent protection across the whole of North America, facilitating a continent-wide opportunity to allow providers of payments services who wish to automate consumer-based management systems with the use of a local link (such as Bluetooth, Infrared, Wi-Fi, WiMax and NFC (Near Field Communication)) with a single license arrangement for the Xcellink method. Potential revenues from the licensing alone run into hundreds of millions of dollars for Xcellink shareholders. Xcellink's system provides payment service providers with an exciting opportunity to be part of the emerging consumer-centric approach to 21st Century E-Commerce.

Enhancing existing technologies such as mobile phones and wireless digital networks, and exploiting the techniques associated with secure messaging systems, this unique process enables customers, rather than the merchant, to initiate, control and pay for all transactions, without the need for credit cards, in real-time anywhere, anytime and at a fraction of the cost of current transactions.

According to the CWTA (Canadian Wireless Telecommunication Association) at the end of March 2008, Canadian wireless phone subscribers numbered 20.1 million, representing a national wireless penetration rate of 62%. Recent CWTA research estimates wireless penetration in major urban centers has exceeded 70%, with some greater metropolitan areas approaching the 80% mark. Wireless revenues in Canada totaled $12.5 billion in 2007.

"With over 33 million people, Canada represents a major market for Xcellink," commented a Company spokesman. "It is a leader in telecommunication technology and we are confident our technologies will be well received there. And with the mobile phone being a fashion statement with an average life of only 1 to 2 years, this is an exceptional opportunity to build Xcellink capability into mobile communications."
