XenSource Joins Microsoft & Other Industry Leaders in Interop Vendor Alliance

Alliance Committed to Connecting People, Data and Diverse Systems

PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 14, 2006 -- XenSource, Inc., the leader in infrastructure virtualization solutions based on the open source Xen™ hypervisor, today announced it has joined with Microsoft and other industry leaders to launch the Interop Vendor Alliance. The Alliance was established to connect people, data and diverse systems through better interoperability.

Earlier this month, XenSource announced the availability of XenEnterprise™ for virtualizing Windows and Linux guests which comes on the heels of Microsoft and XenSource's recent strategic announcement to collaborate on the development of interoperable virtualization solutions, focused on the support of Xen-enabled Linux guests and the future Microsoft Server Windows "Longhorn" Hypervisor. XenEnterprise includes the latest version of the Xen hypervisor, Xen 3.0.3, which has been developed collaboratively by the Xen ecosystem.

"Collaboration and working with a large ecosystem is part of our open source roots, so joining the Interop Vendor Alliance was a natural extension of the work we are already doing to support the adoption of virtualization," said Frank Artale, vice president of business development of XenSource, Inc. "We look forward to working collaboratively with other member companies to ensure better interoperability across the industry."

"The Alliance is committed to interoperability for its customers and vendors, and we are pleased with the participation and dedication XenSource and other industry leaders are showing as they rally around this cause," said Sam Rosenbalm, business development manager of Microsoft. "Interoperability will be a tremendous advantage to customers as they deploy new technologies, products and services in their networks."
