Xiotech Gathers Storage Innovators in Launch of Fellows Program

Industry's Deepest Team in Terms of Storage Patents and Experience to Drive ISE Vision and Market Penetration

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN--(Marketwire - February 18, 2010) - Xiotech Corporation, a leader in intelligent application-oriented storage solutions, today announced the inaugural class of the Xiotech Fellows Program. The program recognizes Xiotech's most senior technical talent and their contributions to the industry and the company. In doing so, it positions them to drive innovation in Xiotech's products and needed fundamental change in the storage industry.

With three levels of Fellows chosen by peer, executive leadership and -- for Senior and Corporate Fellows -- external industry review, Xiotech today named:

-- Richard Lary, Corporate Fellow -- With 40 years of industry
    experience and 32 patents, Lary's legendary influence spans from the
    creation of VAX and the Digital Storage Architecture at DEC to having
    been a vital consultant to many corporations.
-- Rob Peglar, Senior Fellow -- With 32 years of experience, Peglar is
    one of the industry's most seasoned and recognized experts on a host
    of storage topics and the current treasurer of SNIA.
-- Ken Bates, Fellow -- With 35 years of experience, Bates is a
    performance guru and was a guiding force in the development of the
    gold standard in performance testing -- the SPC benchmark.
-- Todd Burkey, Fellow -- With 33 years of experience, Burkey has helped
    to drive key Xiotech innovations for its industry-leading reliability
    around predictive monitoring, telemetry automation and failure
    management.
-- Clark Lubbers, Fellow -- With 35 years of experience and 56 patents
    pending or granted, Lubbers was an early and influential force in
    virtualization, performance and RAID architectures.
-- Bill Pagano, Fellow -- With 35 years of experience, Pagano was the
    lead hardware designer of the company's Intelligent Storage Element
    (ISE™) technology and holds five patents for his hardware work.

"We at Xiotech are blessed to have an incredibly deep roster of storage 'rock stars' who have a collective body of accomplishments and patents that rivals anyone else in the industry," said Xiotech President and CEO Alan Atkinson. "For the many ways they have changed the storage industry for the better, and because they have set the industry bar for innovation so high, they richly deserve this recognition."

All Fellows will report to Xiotech CTO Stephen Sicola, a legend in his own right, with 29 years of experience and 39 patents pending or granted in the areas of storage architecture, RAID, fault tolerance, caching, disaster tolerance and virtualization. The abilities of a Fellow, Senior Fellow and Corporate Fellow are multi-dimensional, from architecture, engineering, senior management support and sales support as well as industry education and advocacy.

Among other qualities, Xiotech Fellows will be judged to be:

-- Leaders and developers of innovative features, major products and/or
    other significant, patented intellectual property;
--  Drivers of key projects and decisions inside and outside of Xiotech;
--  Members of boards and other industry leadership groups;
-- Contributing authors to industry publications and/or speakers at
    industry events;
-- Evangelists for storage and technology to the industry and broader
    community;
-- Mentors to folks inside and outside of Xiotech on areas of topical
    expertise.

Additional Fellows will be added over time to the program as warranted.
