Xtreme Power Systems Selects RFaxis RFX2401 for New Atmel-Based Diversity Antenna DivBee™ Module to Serve ZigBee/ISM Applications

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2011) - RFaxis, a fabless semiconductor company focused on innovative, next-generation RF solutions for the wireless connectivity and cellular mobility markets, today announced that its RFX2401 single chip/single die RF Front-End Integrated Circuit (RFeIC™) for ZigBee/ISM 2.4GHz has been selected by Xtreme Power Systems (XPS) for its new DivBee™ Diversity Antenna ZigBee module. With its dual antenna architecture, and powered by the combination of the Atmel AT86RF231 low power ZigBee 2.4GHz transceiver and the RFaxis RFX2401 RFeIC™, the cost-effective DivBee™ module delivers long range performance, high sensitivity and long battery life in an ultra-compact design. Pre-certified for FCC/IC/ETSI regulatory approvals, the DivBee™ module is an agile time-to-market solution.

The RFaxis RFX2401 RFeIC™ is a complete and fully integrated RF Front-end that includes all the RF functionality needed for IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee/ISM 2.4GHz applications. The RFX2401 is comprised of a power amplifier (PA), low noise amplifier (LNA), transmit and receive switching circuitry, matching network, and harmonic filters all integrated onto a single silicon die.
