Yankee Hat Announces Encouraging Drilling Results From Fran; Best Grade: 17.30 g/t Gold Over 1.5 Meters

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 25, 2007) - Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:KHT) is pleased to announce encouraging drilling results, including 17.30 g/t Au over 1.5 meters within a larger intercept of 1.69 g/t Au over 16.90 meters, from its winter drilling program at the North Contact Zone of the Fran gold project.

The winter drilling program began February 22nd and is scheduled for completion this week. When finalized, it is anticipated that 17 holes totaling approximately 3,300+ meters will have been competed.

Assay results have been received for the first five holes (63 - 67), all of which intersected economically significant gold mineralization:

"The early results from this year's program have confirmed our basic geological model and further reinforce that the North Contact Zone has the potential to develop into a significant gold discovery," said Terry Fields, President of Yankee Hat.

DDH 07-63 was collared to trace mineralization down dip from previously drilled DDH 06-55 which intersected 8.51 g/t gold over 9.55 m (See news release dated October 3, 2006). The intersection in 07-63 (8.6 m of 0.98 g/t gold), while not as high a grade as that in 06-55 does indicate that the wide zone of mineralization extends down dip to an indicated depth of 110 m on this section.

DDH 07-64 was drilled to attempt to extend the mineralization in 06-55 to the west by 35 m. The hole was successful in that a broad zone (16.9 m of 1.69 g/t gold) was cut at the same elevation as in 06-55 including a higher grade interval of 1.5 m of 17.30 g/t gold.

DDH 07-65 was drilled to attempt to extend the mineralization encountered in 07-64 an additional 45 m to the west. A strong fault zone running parallel to the drill hole caused the hole to be terminated early. A silicified interval of fragmented intrusive was cut near the bottom of the hole at 72.2 - 73.8 that ran 1.6 m of 1.33 g/t gold.

DDH 07-66 was drilled from the same location as 07-65 but was swung 20 degrees to the east to attempt to locate an extension of the high grade mineralization intersected in 07-64. The hole intersected stringer type mineralization consisting of quartz and sulphide vein material over 35.9 metres assaying 0.34 g/t gold including 1.47 g/t gold over 1.25 metres at 72.5 - 73.75.

DDH 07-67 was drilled 30 metres west of 65 / 66 to attempt to extend the mineralization from these holes to the west. The hole intersected two zones of stringery quartz pyrite veinlets from 66.8 - 70.75 (3.95 m) assaying 0.51 g/t gold and from 146.15 - 148.95 (2.8 m) assaying 0.86 g/t gold. This last interval included 0.5 m of 1.71 g/t gold.

The winter drilling program is just being completed and has been successful in generating data that indicates continuity across the 250 m interval representing the central gap, thus effectively joining the eastern and western sections of the North Contact Zone. In addition a western extension has also been indicated for an additional 200 m. The overall dimension of the North Contact Zone now is in excess of 1000 m.

The remaining assay results from the winter drilling program are expected over the next six weeks and will be released accordingly.

Wayne Murton, P. Eng., is the Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101 who is supervising the Fran exploration program.
