Canadian-based company launches new name and U.S. expansion plan

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 18, 2014) - Today, StudentAwards, Canada's leading online student platform, announced that it will be transitioning to a new identity - yconic. In line with its vision to extend its global reach, yconic has also launched an extensive U.S. growth plan, acquiring more than 50,000 student members in its first two months. The yconic platform aims to make life easier and less stressful for students pursuing higher education, while empowering them to be and do great things.

The term "yconic" comes from a combination of the word "iconic" and an abbreviation for today's youth, to create the "best in youth". With a focus on building meaningful relationships with youth, yconic offers students across U.S. and Canada a platform where they can give and get the help they need to better manage student life.
