Year-Round Haunted Attraction Launches in Times Square

Venue to Partner With Compass Films International for Haunted House Themed After Legendary Horror Film "HALLOWEEN"

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2011) - The fear is coming... to the heart of Times Square in New York City. TIMES SCARE, a year-round haunted attraction featuring a haunted house, live shows, bars and more will open on Thursday, October 13 and is the first of its kind in the nation.

Located at the corner of 42nd and 8th Avenue, TIMES SCARE will be home to a haunted house bringing together popular scenes from Compass International Film's iconic horror movie "HALLOWEEN."

Guests can look forward to touring the famed Haddonfield Memorial Hospital through the psychiatric ward where Michael Myers is being held and will immediately be transported onto the front doorstep of the Myers home for a journey through Michael's terror.

Creator Jason Egan of Egan Productions is no stranger to the haunted industry. His top ranked attraction, Fright Dome, has been terrifying the masses for nine years in Las Vegas. The popular attraction has ranked in the top five haunted events in the nation for years which inspired Egan to create the one-of-a-kind TIMES SCARE venue.

"We've always had one of the top haunted attractions in the nation with Fright Dome in Las Vegas and I am looking forward to bringing the same high-quality event to New York City on a year-round basis," said Jason Egan, owner of Egan Productions. "'HALLOWEEN' is a timeless classic and the most-recognized horror film of all times; most people fear Michael Myers over any other characters out there."

"Compass International Films is proud to be part of this exciting new venue," said Malek Akkad, producer of the "HALLOWEEN" franchise. "'HALLOWEEN' is the quintessential suspense film, and one that continues to thrill audiences year-after-year, especially during the Halloween season! We, along with the creative team at Egan Productions, are delighted to bring Michael Myers to the heart of New York City. I am positive that Times Scare will be a fantastic experience for horror fans of all ages."

A high-tech theater will feature nightly performances where guests will enjoy an entertaining non-stop roller coaster ride of mayhem from illusionist Dan Sperry. Sperry has changed what fans have come to expect from a typical magic show, being described as David Copperfield meets Marilyn Manson. In his new show at TIMES SCARE, guests will experience the unimaginable as a nail-biting game of Russian Roulette is played with an audience member, the ancient practice of Voo Doo is encountered and much more.

TIMES SCARE will also be home to two fully-stocked themed bars, a lounge for patrons and a retail store. The "Kill Room" bar will give guests the feeling they have stumbled upon a gruesome crime scene as the white walls and floor are splashed with blood from the latest slaying. The "Parlour of the Paranormal" bar is located next to the theater and will allow guests to purchase a specialty cocktail and relax in the gothic-inspired waiting room before the show. For those wanting to catch their breath between the terrifying haunted house and Sperry's show, a lounge area on the main floor will offer a comfortable refuge. Before leaving TIMES SCARE, guests are invited to stop by the retail store for souvenirs including t-shirts, sweatshirts, shot glasses, post cards and more.

In addition to partnering with Akkad to bring the theme to TIMES SCARE's haunted house, Egan is working together with him to bring the message of his recently launched non-profit organization to the New York venue. The sCARE (Suspense Community Allocating Relief and Empowerment) Foundation is dedicated to alleviating the hardships of poverty and homelessness facing today's youth throughout North America to honor the suspense genre's loyal teenage fan base.

"sCARE Foundation is thrilled to be a sponsor of the unique Times Scare venue," said Akkad. "The sCARE Foundation enables fans of the horror genre to give back and contribute in fun and engaging ways. Our partnership with the imaginative talents behind Times Scare will enable fans to do just that! We look forward to being a part of this great venue and seeing all of the fans in New York."

TIMES SCARE is open from noon to midnight every night. For more information, please visit www.timesscarenyc.com.
