York Telecom Adds Cisco TelePresence and Unified Communications to Their Global Managed Service and Systems Integration Offerings

EATONTOWN, NJ--(Marketwire - August 12, 2009) - York Telecom, a leading global provider of visual communications services and solutions, today announced that it has added Cisco TelePresence and Unified Communications to its customer offering by achieving Cisco TelePresence Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status and a Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialization. These designations recognize York Telecom as having fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco TelePresence and Unified Communications.

"As we continue to work with our customers to help optimize their employee productivity and output, it is critical that our organization teams with a leader in business transformation technology such as Cisco," commented Ken Scaturro, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business development for York Telecom. "We are excited to be able to provide global managed services and systems integration support to the Cisco TelePresence and unified communications product line, as this provides additional value to our customers and the Cisco partner community."

"As a Cisco Unified Communications and a Cisco TelePresence ATP partner, York Telecom's investment in the training required to provide integrated, collaborative and adaptive unified communications solutions ranks them among the industry's most qualified," said Richard McLeod, director of unified communications for worldwide channels at Cisco.

"The achievement of these Cisco designations is a continuation of the York Telecom mission to provide global end-to-end support to our customer base for both internal collaboration and business-to-business communications," added Ron Gaboury, President and COO of York Telecom. "We are now better positioned to provide the interoperability consultation and service support that customers are demanding."

The Cisco Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) Program is part of Cisco's go-to-market strategy for emerging technologies. The program helps Cisco to define the knowledge, skills and services that channel partners need to successfully sell, deploy and support an emerging technology. As the market changes, an ATP may be discontinued or evolve into a Cisco specialization.

The Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialization is designed to help Cisco resale channel partners meet a wide range of customer needs. It allows partners to focus on unified communications market opportunities that require advanced product knowledge and the ability to deploy solutions over multiple sites and geographies. Cisco Advanced Unified Communications Specialized Partners are specialists in building solutions based on the industry-leading Cisco Unified Communications portfolio. These products include Cisco Unified CallManager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unity voice messaging and unified messaging, and Cisco Unity Express, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Cisco Unified Videoconferencing and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express.

About Cisco TelePresence

The Cisco TelePresence Meeting solution combines the industry's first ultra-high-definition 1080p video with high-quality, wideband spatial audio, imperceptible latency, and comprehensive environmental design. Meeting participants feel as if they are in the same room, even though they may be on separate continents. With the ability to see and hear others in ultra-high-definition video and wideband spatial audio, users truly experience the subtleties and nuances delivered by body language, eye contact and facial gestures that make up more than 60 percent of communications. With Cisco TelePresence, participants focus on the meeting and not the technology.
