York Telecom to Demonstrate Interoperability Amongst Various OEM Telepresence and High Definition Video Endpoints

EATONTOWN, NJ--(Marketwire - May 17, 2010) - York Telecom Corporation, a leading global provider of visual communications services and solutions, today announced that they will be demonstrating real time interoperability between Cisco TelePresence endpoints, Polycom, Tandberg and LifeSize High Definition desktop and group systems. This exciting demonstration will be a part of York Telecom's Technology Open House taking place on Thursday, May 20th at their corporate headquarters facility as part of York's 25th Anniversary Celebration.

The York Telecom demonstration will allow customers to experience a successful video scenario that many are facing as a challenge in today's conferencing environment. Businesses are operating in a technological landscape which is filled with products supplied by various manufacturers, once thought to never be able to communicate. York Telecom's engineering team, which is certified by all of the major video manufacturers, has been able to assess the specifications of industry products and the needs of the customer base to provide a solution that will allow all major OEM systems to inter-connect real time.

York Telecom uses the innovation behind this demonstration to assist customers with existing equipment consisting of multiple platforms to combine their solutions while receiving the high quality of video that they are accustomed to already.

"Through this interoperability demonstration, York Telecom will be illustrating that whether you are connecting a desktop unit to a telepresence system or a PC solution to one of the leading manufacturers of high definition endpoints, you can maintain functionality and the best quality of experience possible for your end users," said Ken Scaturro, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development for York Telecom. The use of video conferencing has greatly increased in corporations, medical facilities and government institutions as the fiscal climate of the world has changed, allowing businesses to cut back on their travel budgets yet still remain connected.

This Technology Day Open House at York Telecom is being offered to the public Thursday, May 20th, from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and is part of York Telecom's 25th Anniversary Celebration. With fourteen technology exhibits including companies such as AMX, Accordent, Crestron, Cisco, LifeSize, Polycom, and Tandberg, it is designed to allow users, and those new to the industry, to see how business video collaboration is advancing to the point where return on investment can be reached in three to six months.
