Yosemite Technologies and Double-Take® Software Provide Core-to-Edge Data Protection

Strategic Alliance Alleviates IT Headache of Protecting Diverse Data Assets

SAN JOSE, CA and SOUTHBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - August 13, 2007) - In a strategic alliance that provides Core-to-Edge data protection, Yosemite Technologies, Inc., and Double-Take® Software (NASDAQ: DBTK), today announced the combination of complementary data replication and protection technologies. IT Administrators implementing Yosemite's FileKeeper notebook/desktop data protection solution with Double-Take real-time data replication, from Double-Take Software, have the ability to protect data assets wherever they may reside, providing real-time protection of business-critical data and applications both onsite and offsite.

"Many organizations know the importance of data protection and the value of the data on employees' notebooks, but most have not implemented data protection solutions to protect both servers running at the core and notebooks running at the edge of their business's network," said George Symons, president and CEO Yosemite Technologies. "Yosemite's FileKeeper data protection for desktops and notebooks solution is highly complementary to Double-Take Software's data replication technology for servers, and enables effective protection and recovery for all data stored within the IT infrastructure."

Yosemite FileKeeper protects data from the notebook or desktop hard disk, by copying every version to a 'backup location' configured on networked disk and specified in centrally defined policies. Double-Take continuously captures byte-level changes as they happen on the server and replicates those changes to one or more target servers at any location, over any standard network connection.

"Storage use and dependence is growing at an unprecedented rate and so is the importance of protecting a business against service interruptions, ranging from downtime to accidental file deletion, which can threaten productivity and prosperity," said Bob Roudebush, director of solutions engineering at Double-Take Software. "The combination of Double-Take and FileKeeper provides real-time data replication for continuous file protection to servers."
