Young Entrepreneurs Teach Teens the Essentials of Entrepreneurism at Chicago Kids' Day

200 Teens Attending Event, April 29, Hyatt Regency O'Hare; Part of 2011 Marketing and Money-Making SuperConference

TOWSON, MD--(Marketwire - Apr 19, 2011) - Kids' Day, a special event dedicated to teaching young people the fundamentals of entrepreneurism, will be held on Friday, April 29, at Chicago's Hyatt Regency O'Hare. Two hundred teens are registered, a full-capacity audience, including 43 high school juniors and seniors from Junior Achievement of Chicago. The event is hosted by Glazer-Kennedy Insider's Circle and is part of the company's seventh annual Marketing and Money-Making SuperConference, designed to provide marketing and sales insights to entrepreneurs and small businesses. Approximately 1,100 attendees are attending this year's conference.

The Kids' Day program will be led by three successful young entrepreneurs, all of whom started businesses in high school or college. In addition to covering the fundamentals of starting a business, the interactive program will teach teens how to set and achieve goals, build confidence and esteem, and successfully network.

"Kids' Day is my favorite part of the conference," said Dan Kennedy, co-founder of GKIC, a membership-based company with a comprehensive array of products, resources, and services designed to market and grow small businesses. "Entrepreneurship has always been an important part of our culture and now plays a critical role in our country's economy. Today, small businesses employ more than half of the U.S. workforce. Teaching by example is the best way to develop the next generation of entrepreneurs." Kennedy will end the Kids' Day program with a kids'-only, question-and-answer session.

The Kids' Day speakers include: Adam Witty, CEO of Advantage, a full-service book and magazine publishing company; Duane Spires, CEO of Extreme Youth Sports, a Florida-based company focused on cultivating healthy lifestyles through the teaching of sports and life coaching; and Arel Moody, co-owner of the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour and author of Your Starting Point for Student Success.

"This event aligns perfectly with Junior Achievement's mission -- to teach kids to dream big and achieve their full potential," said Sarah Wilson, vice president of education and outreach, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland. "GKIC is a company that walks its talk and is truly committed to serving the community and its youth. The Chicago teens who attend this event will definitely leave inspired and armed with valuable information." GKIC and Junior Achievement of Maryland have partnered to evolve and extend entrepreneurship education in Maryland.

"Our goal for this event is to teach kids the possibilities of entrepreneurship and how they can start their business future now," said Arel Moodie, who will serve as moderator of the event. "We'll share with them our own experiences and practical guidelines they can apply to their lives immediately."
