Anticipated Event Has Fundraised Over $195,000 in the Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 22, 2015) - Young People Against Alzheimer's (YPAA) is thrilled to announce the success of its Fourth Annual Memory Ball, in support of The Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST). Presented by Feature Foods, Memory Ball was held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Palais Royale in downtown Toronto. The sold-out event, hosted by Z103.5 radio personality, Amanda Logan, showcased a variety of entertainment beginning with live jazz band, Sax 4th Avenue, live visual artist Carlos Delgado, followed by DJ Lexx Decibel. In addition, guests enjoyed sampling Feature Foods' seafood at the herring and vodka bar and hand massages from Aveda's spa experts. YPAA is proud to announce that the Fourth Annual Memory Ball raised $75,000 for the AST's initiatives to support individuals living with Alzheimer's disease in the Toronto area. Since their inaugural event in 2012, YPAA has fundraised over $195,000 for the AST. YPAA's fundraising efforts would not have been possible without the generous support from longstanding title sponsor, Feature Foods. YPAA is also grateful for the support of Dr. Dan Andrae, Stikeman Elliott LLP, Bell, Canso Investment Counsel, JC Clark Limited, and Oaken Financial.

About Young People Against Alzheimer's (formerly Friends for a Benefit) and Memory Ball

In 2011, YPAA was established to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease among a young demographic. Each member of YPAA has been personally touched by Alzheimer's disease. The group is passionate about increasing awareness for Alzheimer's disease since two of its members' mothers were diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. In four years, Memory Ball has hosted over 1,500 guests. In 2015, YPAA exceeded a combined four-year fundraising total of over $195,000.
