Young Students Eager to Work with Professional Authors and Illustrators at Annual Conference

Eagle Sponsors MASC's Young Authors' and Illustrators' Conference for the Twelfth (12th) Year

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 24, 2012) - Eagle Professional Resources (Eagle) is proud to once again be the major sponsor of MASC's 21st annual Young Authors' and Illustrators' Conference being held this year at St. Paul's University from April 25th to 27th. In addition to financial support, Eagle's staff participate as volunteers both at the event and on the organizing committee.

This year's conference will take place over three days and will be host to hundreds of young students, between the ages of 8 and 14, with an interest in writing and/or illustrating. Participants, who were successfully selected in an application process, will travel from across Eastern Ontario to attend workshops with some of Canada's most talented authors and illustrators. This year's group will have the opportunity to attend two of eight focused workshops conducted by authors Alan Cumyn, Caroline Pignat, Catherine Austen, Anne Renaud and Kate Jaimet, as well as illustrators Richard Rudnicki, Ben Hodson and Susan Tooke.

The comments that come back from the children that attend this conference are a testament to the overwhelming impact that a day with professionals has on them. Last year, one young student wrote "Thank you for the notebook. I am honored to have come to this conference and I will write until the pages burst". Another commented: "You rock! This is the best day of my LIFE!"

"We are so privileged to have strong community support for this event. Eagle's sponsorship and investment in this conference yields an amazing return!" commented Audrey Churgin, MASC's Executive Director. "The students consistently call it the 'best day of my life', and send accolades of compliments to MASC and Eagle every year."

"This type of community investment is very rewarding for Eagle … the sheer joy of the participants is fantastic to see," said Eagle CEO, Kevin Dee. "Our society needs to encourage creativity, the arts and an enthusiasm for learning … this event does just that!"
