Your Chance to Vote in the First Broadband Genie Home Broadband Awards!

CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND--(Marketwire - Dec. 20, 2010) - After the success over the past two years of its Mobile Broadband Road Trip Awards, Broadband Genie has announced its inaugural Home Broadband Awards - and everyone can take part.

There will be seven consumer broadband awards in total, with 'Most Anticipated Product 2011' being voted for by the public via Broadband Genie's on-site poll. You can have your say now by voting for what you think will be the most anticipated broadband advancement of 2011.

There are five to choose from: Virgin Media's TiVo cable broadband television service; YouView, formerly known as Project Canvass; the continued roll-out of BT's Infinity fibre broadband; 4G mobile broadband, and Virgin Media's 100Mb fibre broadband service.

Two awards, 'Best Broadband Provider' and 'Best Broadband Support', have been run in conjunction with leading market research company OnePoll. 'Fastest Broadband Provider' will be decided from the results of Broadband Genie's own speed test data.

A panel of broadband experts including representatives from non-participating ISPs, research analysts and journalists will choose the final three categories: 'Best Budget Broadband', Best Bundled Broadband and Most Innovative Provider.

Broadband Genie editor Chris Marling commented: "2011 promises to be an exciting year for broadband. And as a consumer-focused broadband website, we're always fascinated to hear what is getting the public excited when it comes to the internet.

"With the Broadband Genie Home Broadband Awards, we wanted to involve our site visitors as much as we could, so alongside the OnePoll results and speed test data, we decided to get everyone involved via the Broadband Advancement poll.

"The Broadband Genie Home Broadband Awards will reward everything from speed to service, and from innovation to package value. In the years to come we think the awards will become one of the key benchmarks for how the UK's home broadband providers are performing."

The winners will be announced at the end of January 2011.
