Your Fingerprint Now Used to Activate Your Credit Card's Wireless Function in a Dual Purpose NFC Contactless as Well as EMV Contact Biometric Credit Card by SmartMetric

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - February 09, 2016) -  SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) SmartMetric, having created the biometric credit card with an in-the-card fingerprint scanner has now created a fingerprint activated multi-function biometric payments card with an EMV contact chip as well as a radio frequency NFC contactless electronics with both the contact and contactless functions activated following a user's in-the-card fingerprint scan.

We are excited by the advances we have made with our miniature electronics to now be able to combine both contact EMV chip card technology with NFC wireless contactless technology in our multifunctional biometric payments card. Using a person's own fingerprint biometrics with the SmartMetric inside the card fingerprint reader to validate the card user gives an incredible increase in protection for both the consumer and the card issuing financial institution. What we have done is closed off the gap in card security where up until now a person's card information can be easily stolen from reading the card's wireless chip. Now with the SmartMetric biometric technology inside the card the card's wireless chip as well as contact chip only transmits information following a positive fingerprint match with the card user said today SmartMetric's President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick.

SmartMetric's biometric payments card has achieved an incredible reduction in microelectronics to fit a fully functional fingerprint reader inside an EMV smart card. The card user roles their finger across a thin sensor on the card's surface which is used to read the person's fingerprint and match it with their fingerprint already stored inside the card. Following a successful fingerprint match processed by the SmartMetric miniature fingerprint scanner inside the card the card is turned on allowing it to be inserted inside a credit card reader or ATM machine. The fingerprint scanning takes less than 0.25 seconds making it even faster as well as being more secure than typing in PIN's etc.

SmartMetric is now offering its biometric card direct to card issuing Banks, Financial Institutions around the world. The biometric contact payments card is compatible with the industry EMV standard card readers and ATM's. There are now more than 3.4 billion EMV chip cards issued globally and an estimated 600 million now issued in the United States.

About SmartMetric: SmartMetric has created a safer and better user validation and identification technology for payment and identity cards using a person's individual and unique biometrics to validate and identify the card user. The company has created a super miniature fully functional powerful fingerprint scanner that fits inside a payments card as well as identity and secure log on cards. Using an internal Cortex processor built in the card the SmartMetric biometric card scans, reads and matches a person's fingerprint in less than 0.25 seconds. The card's internal scanner is powered by a rechargeable battery developed by SmartMetric and also embedded inside the payments and identity card. SmartMetric is a publicly traded fully reporting company on the United States OTCQB exchange.
