Youth Conference Unites Students Across the Province

EDMONTON, AB --(Marketwired - May 27, 2016) - Spreading the message of hope to thousands of youth across Alberta, YC AB 2016 will encourage and unite young Albertans to live their lives for the purposes of God.

YC Alberta is a forum where youth are challenged through workshops and powerful music to experience God. The event will take place May 27-29, 2016, at Rexall Place and the Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

Mike Love, Executive Director of Extreme Dream Ministries explains, "Our theme this year is 'unite' and we get to demonstrate unity to Alberta's youth by coming together as one body, with one purpose, at one conference."

As a reflection of this year's theme, unite, organizers will be partnering with the Food Bank to collect donations for victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire. Extreme Dream Ministries is working with churches and youth groups from Fort McMurray to ensure students from the area could still have an opportunity to attend YC.

"This speaks to the strength of our city and province, and speaks to the power of God's love and grace amidst a trial," says Love.

Over the years has grown from 500 students in a small gymnasium, to draw crowds of over 16,000 delegates in Alberta. More than 250,000 students have been impacted by this event.

"We want to see more lives impacted through YC events around the world," says Love. "More importantly, this weekend is about setting aside our denominational differences as we become one in Christ."

YC Alberta 2016 will feature guest speakers Elijah Waters (US), Heath Adamson (US), and musical guests include Grammy Award winning Switchfoot (USA), Martin Smith (UK), Bluetree (IE) and Thousand Foot Krutch (USA).
