YUDU Extends Cloud Computing Platform to Customers: Launches Enterprise Apps for the iPad

YUDU's Cloud Platform Allows Businesses to Create and Publish Their Own Corporate App; Moving Beyond Just E-Mail, Employees Can Now Access Corporate Materials on Their iPad From Anywhere in the World

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 21, 2011) - Digital publishing company YUDU Media (www.yudupro.com) today unveiled its new Enterprise License App solution for the iPad. This new offering allows corporations to publish materials into a cloud-based container app and distribute content in a secure, closed-access environment, delivered directly onto its employees' iPads. This is a powerful new solution giving organizations a new set of publishing tools to develop their own corporate enterprise app for sharing the most accurate and exclusive information company-wide. It was demonstrated today for the first time at the Cloud Computing World Forum in London.

The iPad is the fastest selling consumer device ever to hit $1 billion in sales and is set to revolutionize the way people and businesses consume and distribute content. Earlier this year Apple revealed that over 80% of Fortune 500 companies are deploying or piloting the iPad within their company.

"The iPad is becoming the popular choice for a lightweight alternative to laptops and even desktop computers," said Richard Stephenson, CEO of YUDU Media. "The iPad is being used within organizations for many different business functions and YUDU's new Enterprise License App will allow companies to change the way they communicate with their employees, share information and improve efficiencies across their workforce."

YUDU's new offering will enable the secure creation, distribution and organization of internal iPad content such as training videos, human resource documents, sales and marketing materials or technical manuals. YUDU works directly with the organization to help create the corporate app under its own enterprise developer license. The company can then distribute the app files internally to employees via email and the app is downloaded to each iPad. YUDU's cloud-based publishing platform enables corporations to upload content, enhance with video using the YUDU editing tools and the finished documents are immediately populated into the Apps on employees' iPads. Employees will also receive a push notification each time there is new content to view.

iPad devices in a business environment bring increased mobility to staff and the ability to view rich media content remotely from anywhere in the world. The iPad is also secure and reliable and can integrate within a company infrastructure. The benefits of YUDU's new Enterprise License and Closed-Access App solutions for the iPad include:

  • Publishing is now available in a cloud-based container app to distribute content in a secure, closed-access environment, delivered directly onto employees' iPads.
  • Materials are delivered remotely and directly onto employees' iPad devices providing the most efficient distribution of accurate and up-to-date information while maintaining control of all content.
  • Increases the mobility and productivity of a company's workforce while instantly distributing rich media content to employees in any location, directly to their iPad.
  • Field workforce will have access to quality interactive sales materials, presentations and technical manuals via their iPad.
