Yum! Canada Employees Help Eliminate Hunger in Their Own Backyard

Large-scale food drive for Daily Bread Food Bank fights hunger in the Greater Toronto Area

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 15, 2007) - Today, Yum! Canada employees are kicking off World Hunger Relief Week, which runs from October 14 - 20, by volunteering at the Daily Bread Food Bank. Yum! Canada employees will stock shelves and pack much-needed food boxes with food supplies collected from a company-wide food drive. Throughout the entire week, Yum! Canada is raising awareness and funds for the World Food Programme to alleviate hunger around the globe and in communities across Canada.

From now until October 20, a $1 donation at Yum! Canada restaurants - KFC Canada, Taco Bell Canada, Pizza Hut Canada and Long John Silver's Canada - will buy enough food to feed five children for a day and fight the devastation of hunger. Yum! Canada will also donate more than $10,000 to local food banks on behalf of the three restaurants that raise the most funds during World Hunger Relief Week.

"Hunger affects millions of people around the world everyday, including tens of thousands of residents in the GTA. At Yum! Canada, our employees have come together to combat hunger not only on a global scale, but also in our own community," said Jon Prinsell, president of Yum! Restaurants International (Canada) LP. "As part of World Hunger Relief Week, we encourage Torontonians and all Canadians to give to their local food bank or simply donate $1 during World Hunger Relief Week to any KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut or Long John Silver's. We believe that everyone - employees, customers and suppliers - has the power to help end hunger."

World Hunger Relief Week is a global initiative that raises desperately needed funds for the United Nation's World Food Programme (WFP). Donations can be made in-store - at participating KFC Canada, Taco Bell Canada, Pizza Hut Canada and Long John Silver's Canada - or online at www.fromhungertohope.com or www.yum.com.

Funds raised by Yum! Canada will go directly to feeding people in the WFP's areas of greatest need including expanding school feeding programs to serve more children and families, providing essential food assistance to new mothers and their infants, and increasing school attendance among girls by providing take-home food rations.
