Energy Management Demos and Speaking Opportunity Spotlight Z-Wave's Growing Energy Management Ecosystem

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - March 18, 2010) - DistribuTECH Booth #2018 -- The Z-Wave Alliance, an open consortium of global companies dedicated to enhancing Home Area Network (HAN) energy management and home control products based on Z-Wave wireless technology, will be showcasing various home energy management solutions from its members this year at DistribuTECH 2010 at Booth 2018.

"With the largest interoperable HAN portfolio in the market, our members are providing compelling energy management solutions to consumers that are easy to install and control according to their personal needs and preferences," said Raoul Wijgergangs, chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance. "Our presence this year at DistribuTECH is a testament to the growing success of Z-Wave's ecosystem of more than 350 interoperable products. Z-Wave products can connect homes to the smart grid, but more importantly are revolutionizing home energy management by placing the ability to conserve energy in the hands of the consumers while still providing all the conveniences of a fully connected home."

This year the Z-Wave Alliance booth will be demoing a variety of HAN energy management solutions from several members including: BuLogics, iControl Networks, MiCasa Verde and Trane (Schlage). In the booth, BuLogics will be demoing its Smart Grid home Controller, which recently launched at CES 2010, and iControl will be demoing its ConnectedLife Energy Management solution, which launched in November 2009.

iControl's VP of Energy Products, Letha McLaren, will also be speaking at DistribuTECH on the emergence of broadband-based energy management solutions, and how broadband service providers and utilities are partnering to deliver new solutions to consumers.

Z-Wave provides an end-to-end solution that empowers the homeowner to wirelessly manage energy consumption by controlling specific devices in the home such as lighting, thermostats, appliances and home entertainment systems from anywhere in the world via a PC or smartphone. The Z-Wave certification process is extensive and those products that achieve certification can be identified by the Z-Wave logo on their packaging. All Z-Wave certified products are interoperable, making it easy to build a Z-Wave HAN.
