FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - March 17, 2008) - The Z-Wave-Alliance, an open consortium of
manufacturers, developers and market influencers dedicated to delivering on
the promise of affordable, interoperable wireless home control products,
announced today that it will host the first annual European Wireless Home
Control Summit on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Marriott Hotel
Frankfurt/Main in Frankfurt, Germany. The event will be located across the
street from the Light & Building Show.
During the Summit, international wireless home control experts, such as
internationally recognized market research and consulting firm Parks
Associates, Z-Wave developer and chip manufacturer Zensys and Z-Wave
Alliance members, Danfoss, Horstmann, Linksys and Merten, will discuss
trends, market developments, the current and future fields of application
and trends/technologies for the future of home control.
"This is a groundbreaking event for Z-Wave that confirms the continued
dominance of Z-Wave in wireless home control," said Bernd Grohmann, Senior
Director of Product Marketing for Zensys. "Z-Wave products are affordable,
reliable, interoperable, easy-to-deploy and offer the largest number of
products on the market -- making it clear to see why Z-Wave has
distinguished itself as the global standard in wireless home control."
Parks Associates forecasts that the number of worldwide households with
residential gateways facilitating broadband sharing, remote management and
service provisioning, and/or value-added services will grow to 72 million
by year-end 2012. Additional market research findings predict that the
European home control market will more than double in less than 12 months.
Hot topics in the industry include energy-saving solutions, security
applications and measures to gain comfort in the residential setting.
The Summit will kick off on Tuesday, April 8, with the Z-Wave Lounge
cocktail reception, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., where attendees can participate
in interactive and informative discussions surrounding wireless home
control products and markets. The conference is sponsored by
Elektronikpraxis and will include a special exhibit of interoperable Z-Wave
