Zacuto Donates Gear to 'Mission Kilimanjaro' Documentary

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Dec 1, 2011) - Mission Kilimanjaro is a documentary project in which Kyle Maynard, a man born with a condition known as congenital amputation, will attempt to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Kyle's condition has left him with arms that end at the elbows and legs that end near his knees, but that doesn't stop him from climbing mountains. In an effort to raise awareness for wounded military veterans, Kyle will begin his climb in January of 2012 and Zacuto has donated both a Crossfire and Target Shooter rig complete with Z-Finders to help document the journey. Kyle will be accompanied by two wounded US military veterans, Chris Hadsall and Sandra Ambotaite.

"On average, 18 American military vets commit suicide every day," says Maynard. "I think having a purpose is the best way to combat that. If we can reach some of those people with this project then it's totally worth it. Just because something has happened to you in your life doesn't mean that you can't do things. We want people to be empowered to realize that if you want to take the first step, you can do something. Everyone has a mountain in their life."

In addition to climbing up one of the tallest mountains in the world, Kyle Maynard will also be donating $25,000 in medical supplies to disabled orphans in Tanzania and a small documentary crew will also be there to capture this historic journey. With six weeks left until the journey begins, Kyle is training hard but he says that he is ready.

"Thanks to Zacuto for helping to share this message with the world," says Maynard. "Because of your donation we hope to achieve the best possible end product."
