Zacuto Offers Kits for New Sony F3

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - February 2, 2011) - Sony Electronics introduces the new PMW-F3 camcorder, which is a huge advancement for independent filmmakers. This is the first camera to have a Super 35 sized sensor paired with a diminutive form factor and a proper video codec. Steve Weiss and Jens Bogehegn, owners of Zacuto USA, arranged with Kari Hess of Abel Cine Tech to be one of the first to get their hands on this unique camera.

Steve Weiss, Product Designer and Director says, "I'm very impressed with this camera and its extreme low noise, robust construction, on-board XLR audio jacks and all of the right outputs. It all makes this an extremely powerful cinema camera."

When compared to DSLRs, the features of this camera provide an enhanced image quality as well as proper ports, meters, and an ergonomic body that cinematographers are used to.

Zacuto USA, has many kits that will compliment the Sony F3. The Cine Baseplate kit, which includes a Zamerican Arm for mounting an HD monitor, allows for easy setup, tear down and adjustability with its Zacuto Z-release technology. The Indie Baseplate kit can be used with a tripod or as a shoulder-mount and allows a follow focus, matte box, wireless microphone receiver, and external monitor with professional power to mount and place on your shoulder. Zacuto's Z-finder EVF, a must have for the F3, allows you to configure the camera as a professional style camera for shoulder-mounting. Some benefits include balance and stability, comfort on the eye and low mode shooting. Having the viewfinder on the side of the camera allows for a shortened camera package and the weight of the camera evenly distributed on your shoulder.

Jens Bogehegn, Zacuto Product Designer says, "I'm very excited for the arrival of the Sony F3. Though it is still a palm style prosumer camera, its sensor size and professional interchangeable lens capability make it very attractive. The Zacuto EVF and handheld rig completes its transformation into a professionally ergonomic camera."
