Zacuto Releases New and Improved Indie Kit V2

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jul 20, 2011) - One of Zacuto's standard rigs, the Indie Kit, has received a complete makeover. The Indie Kit V2 is a shoulder mounted camera stabilization rig designed for the independent filmmaker. Like many other Zacuto rigs, the Indie Kit V2 uses the Universal Baseplate to mount to any camera, including the Panasonic AF100, Sony F3, Sony FS100, RED ONE, HVX200 or any other camera of this size. The Indie Kit V2 can even be used with DSLR cameras with the addition of a Z-spacer.

"This particular kit is designed for the shooter that wants a traditional shoulder mounted rig but also wants to use the camera's original viewfinder," says Zacuto Product Designer, Jens Bogehegn. "The great thing is that this kit can be converted for use with our EVF if desired. This rig is the perfect balancing device for making your camera feel, look and act more like a traditional professional camera."

The biggest difference between the new version of the kit and the old is that the Indie V2 Kit comes with the new Zacuto Zwiss Plate. The Zwiss plate is a cheese plate that attaches to the back of the rig and allows users to mount anything to the rig with the provided ¼" 20 and 3/8" 16 holes, including the AJA Ki Pro Mini. You also get your choice of a V-Mount or 3-Stud battery plate allowing you to mount your pro batteries for counterbalance. Other accessories include the Zoffset, which offsets the rig allowing the shooter to get their eye in the camera's viewfinder and the Zgrips Beefy, Zacuto's infinitely adjustable grips recommended for camera packages between 22-40 pounds. Much like all Zacuto camera rigs, the Indie Kit V2 is universal and can be used with any 15mm lightweight accessories.

The Indie V2 Kit retails for $2390. Visit or contact your local authorized Zacuto reseller to order yours today.
