Zacuto Rentals Now Offering New Sony FS100 Packages

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Sep 14, 2011) - Zacuto rentals is pleased to announce the addition of the new Sony NEX-FS100 to their inventory. The FS100 is Sony's smaller and lighter follow-up to the F3, but uses the same large sensor image chip.

"People loved DSLR cameras because of the exceptional image quality and low cost but the ergonomics were all wrong," says Zacuto Rentals Manager, Leo Koesterer. "The FS100 has all the physical features you would want in a camcorder but still has that amazing cinematic look of a large sensor camera."

Unlike the F3, the FS100 does not support SDI or HDSDI, but is equipped with HDMI and component signal outputs. Users still have the option to swap out their lenses, but the FS100 requires an adapter for use with any lens that does not utilize the standard Sony Alpha NEX E-Mount. PL-mount and Nikon "F" mount lenses can be used, but only with an adapter.

Zacuto Rentals is one of the few rental houses offering the FS100 at this time. All FS100 rental packages include several large, long lasting batteries and plenty of 64GB SD cards for ample recording time. Unlike its predecessors, the NEX-FS100 does not use SxS cards for recording. Zacuto also offers plenty of zoom and prime lenses, plus Nikon and Canon lens mount adapters to outfit this new camera. Other unique features include a topside mounted flip-out screen, dual XLR inputs and a removable handgrip with a record start/stop trigger.

All FS100 Zacuto rig configurations are also compatible with the new Zacuto EVF. Because the screen for this camera is located on the top of the camera, it's not ideal for shoulder mounted support rigs. With a Zacuto rig, you can easily position the Zacuto EVF off the side of the camera and still have the Sony LCD monitor available.
