Zacuto to Sponsor PDN & PQA Workshops

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - May 25, 2011) - Zacuto is happy to announce their sponsorship of award-winning monthly photography magazine, Photo District News' (PDN) HDSLR workshops. These seminars are designed to help still photographers make the transition from shooting stills to shooting video with DSLR cameras. These workshops are produced by the prominent photography group, Photo Quest Adventures (PQA) and will be hosted by professional photographers, Eduardo Angel and David McLain.

"Overall, I believe the most important thing to consider when shooting video is how to communicate a story. There are similarities and differences between shooting stills and shooting video. We are here to educate photographers on what those similarities and differences are," says Angel. "A lot of photographers today are really feeling the pressure to shoot video as well. The goal of these workshops is to take away the fear of transitioning into video and encourage photographers to try new things."

The tour began in New York on May 14th and is scheduled to travel to Chicago, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. Each workshop will cover a wide array of topics dealing with hardware and workflow related to DSLR video production. Topics include essential cameras and lenses, follow focus units, fluid heads, support rigs, memory cards, hard drives, the similarities and differences of still photography and video, filmmaking terms, shooting techniques, different formats and file types, advantages and disadvantages of popular HDSLR systems, camera setups and the differences between still, cinema, zoom and prime lenses. This comprehensive workshop also demonstrates the vital areas of audio techniques and constant lighting solutions. The Photo Quest Adventure workshops require no previous experience with digital video. Shooters of any skill level are encouraged to attend.

The workshop costs $450 per person and is limited to 25 participants. For more information or to sign up for a workshop visit
