Zacuto, USA Releases the Z-Cage

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - January 12, 2011) - DSLR film accessories manufacturer, Zacuto, USA introduces a lightweight and compact mounting solution which works with DSLR's of all sizes: The Z-Cage.

The Z-Cage includes Zacuto DSLR Baseplate and form-fitting DSLR handles to allow you to shoot low mode, and to hold the camera in both hands for instant handheld shoots. The Z-Cage has a great set-up for shooting on a tripod, and gives additional space to mount accessories, such as an HD monitor and an audio recorder. Some additional z-release elements which are essential for mounting these accessories are by adding the monitor mount with the z-cage, or placing articulating arms on the cage.

"The cage was a natural rig to design. I love having a solid place to grip the camera on all sides," says Product Designer Jens Bogehegn. "I can just grab and run, not to mention the option to mount extra gear."

To accommodate all DSLR cameras, adjust the height of the plate by using the Allen screws on the front of the DSLR baseplate (which are also for customizing your cage into a shoulder-mounted rig). To build your cage into a shoulder mounted rig, the plate has multiple 1/2" 13 threads on the sides.

Unlike other competing cages, one must-have z-feature is when the camera can quickly be released by turning the red knob on the side of the DSLR baseplate, and releasing the camera. The top rods on the front of the baseplate can also be used for mounting a follow focus, matte box. For lens support and handgrips place rods on the bottom of the DSLR baseplate.

The Z-Cage is available at any Zacuto worldwide dealer: http://www.zacuto.com/category/zacuto-dealers or at http://zacuto.com. To learn and watch more about the Z-Cage go to http://www.zacuto.com/dslr-z-cage.
