Zacuto's New Writing Series Educates Aspiring Writers

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Dec 21, 2011) - In an effort to inform and educate aspiring writers in the production world, Zacuto recently began releasing a series of articles that discuss writing tricks and tips by Jill Remensnyder.

"These articles are meant to help filmmakers explore their own writing process and how they're approaching their material," says Remensnyder. "It's easy to get caught up in the latest technology but at the end of the day if your story doesn't hold up, none of it matters. My hope is to pass along what I've learned and works for me, as well as what I hear from other successful writers."

Remensnyder is a professional writer and producer who began her career in film production when she wrote, produced and directed her first feature film just as she was about to graduate from college. In 1999, she brought her movie to Cannes and career doors began to open. Remensnyder's latest film, Light of Mine, premiered at the 2011 Ashland Independent Film Festival where it was a finalist for best cinematography. The film also recently screened at AFI Fest in Hollywood.

"Jill is a fabulous writer and I'm so glad that she is writing this series," says Zacuto Director Steve Weiss. "We have worked together in the past and are currently developing a dramatic series. I love the way we work together and she is making this knowledge available to everyone in this writing series. My advice to indie filmmakers is to read these articles twice and get a film school education for nada!!!"

Remensnyder's articles not only feature great advice for novice writers but also contain plenty of information that even well-seasoned writers will find useful. From characters to settings to dialog and more, Remensnyder covers everything you could possibly want to know about writing for the screen.
