Zayo Group Recognized in Denver Business Journal's Power Book Award

Zayo Founder Named Finalist for the Award That Recognizes Colorado's Top CEO

LOUISVILLE, CO--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2012) - In recognition of the progress made by Zayo Group, Denver Business Journal (DBJ) announces CEO and President Dan Caruso as a finalist for their Power Book award. The DBJ award recognizes the top CEOs in Colorado by category, with Caruso named in the Tech and Telecom category.

Zayo Group has announced and closed four acquisitions in 2012, with the largest being AboveNet. The four acquisitions as well as organic growth have pushed Zayo's network to 68,500 route miles and, on a pro-forma basis giving effect to its recent acquisitions, has grown to nearly $1B in Revenue.

"In 2007, we had the idea of acquiring fiber-based telecom companies and transforming them into a Bandwidth Infrastructure platform," states Dan Caruso, CEO and President of Zayo Group. "Through the skill and hard work of our Zayo team, Zayo became a leading bandwidth provider in the U.S. and Europe."

With a strong regional presence, 25% of Zayo's 1,200 employees work in Colorado. The DBJ describes the Power Book as "an exclusive look at business leaders in 14 industry categories who made news in the last year or who, in the DBJ's editorial department's judgment, otherwise deserve recognition for their most recent business accomplishments."

The 14 categories in which the DBJ honors CEOs include: Law, Non-profits and Foundation, Tech and Telecom, and Healthcare, among others. Within each category the DBJ will award the top CEO in the region who deserves recognition for their most recent business accomplishments.
