Zazzle Launches ZOMG -- A Week-Long, City-Wide Celebration for the Week of the 100th Bay to Breakers

Local Businesses Across San Francisco Invited to Participate

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - May 6, 2011) - Zazzle, the title sponsor of this year's 100th Zazzle Bay to Breakers, today announced it is introducing a week-long, city-wide celebration called ZOMG to coincide with the week of the Zazzle Bay to Breakers footrace. Zazzle is extending an open invitation to local San Francisco businesses to get involved and help support and celebrate this cherished local tradition. Participating venues will be listed on Zazzle's official ZOMG website ( and any business can apply by emailing

Over the past 100 years, the Zazzle Bay to Breakers has become a San Francisco tradition. To celebrate the rich history of the race and its community, Zazzle is launching ZOMG, a grassroots call-to-action for any local San Francisco business or venue to get involved.

"The primary reason Zazzle decided to sponsor the Bay to Breakers this year was simply because, as locals ourselves, we love the event and we're proud to celebrate San Francisco's unique culture of self-expression," said Zazzle co-founder Jeff Beaver. "So this year, we are launching ZOMG as a way to be inclusive of local businesses, which will be able to participate during this especially vibrant week in San Francisco."

"We're thrilled about ZOMG, which is exactly what's needed to bring the city together by getting all sorts of venues involved in the action, for the entire week!" added Rico Avila, founder of Essential, a San Francisco based entertainment company.

Some of the businesses and venues already signed up to participate in ZOMG this year include San Francisco Oyster Fest, The Cat Club, Club Trigger, Milk Bar, Roe Nightclub, the Meridian Gallery, 103 Harriet, and The Ambassador, as well as top music acts Adam Freeland, BLVD, Kastle, Star Eyes, Jack O' the Clock, Danny Heines, Mario Muse, Heart Touch, Keno Mapp, Mission Players, One Over Eight, Groovy Judy, Jimmy Leslie, Coelho & Ridnell, and more!

Here are some ZOMG highlights, so far:

  • Official events to be held at different San Francisco venues every night of the week, beginning Monday, May 9 through Sunday, May 15. There is already a huge array of businesses participating, from bars and restaurants to art galleries and taco trucks. If you are a San Francisco business, you can be part of the celebration. Any San Francisco based business or venue can apply by emailing with: (1) business or venue name; (2) location & occupancy; (3) day of the week for their listing; and (4) a special promotion, theme or offer for attendees.
  • Decade Themes -- In the spirit of celebrating the 100th year, each day of the week represents a different decade over the last 100 years, which venues are encouraged to incorporate as a theme for their promotion: Monday = Roaring 20s; Tuesday = The Mad 50s; Wednesday = Psychedelic 60s; Thursday = Jammin' 70s; Friday = Radical 80s; Saturday = Naughty 90s; Sunday = The Future.
  • Zazzle Footstock -- The annual post-race concert and festival hosting over 60,000 attendees has been moved to Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park this year, and will feature local bands Geographer (voted "Best Local Version of Radiohead" in the SF Weekly Awards of 2010), Loquat, and Boca do Rio.
