ZEESMAN Named Professional Service Firm of the Year by the Los Angeles Mayor's Office During the Minority and Small Business Conference

Award Recognizes ZEESMAN's Leadership in Brand Strategy, Marketing and Design

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - May 20, 2013) - ZEESMAN, one of the nation's leading brand strategy and marketing firms, was honored by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and named 2013 Minority Professional Services Firm of the Year during an awards ceremony at the 18th annual Minority and Small Business Conference this week. With more than 325,000 small businesses based in Los Angeles, approximately 70% of which are minority and women-owned, ZEESMAN was one of only seven honored at the ceremony and again today by the Los Angeles City Council.

ZEESMAN and the other honorees will join the Mayor's Office of Economic & Business Policy at the Annual Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference to be held later this year in Washington, D.C. This conference provides Minority Business Enterprises with information and access to federal contracting managers, valuable workshops and training sessions.

Since 1994 the Mayor's Office has partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce-Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) to provide business development support to minority firms through the program formerly known as LA MBOC. As of April 1, 2011, the relationship with the MBDA changed to include a partnership with the University of Southern California (USC) to administer the new program, now known as the MBDA Business Center-Los Angeles (MBC-LA). The annual award recognition was established by the MBDA.
