Zeiss Expands Milvus Family With 15mm, 18mm, and 135mm Lenses; Pre-Order at B&H Photo

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 08, 2016) - B&H Photo would like to share Zeiss's announcement of the Milvus 15mm f/2.8, Milvus 18mm f/2.8, and the Milvus 135mm f/2. All three manual-focus lenses will be available with either Nikon F or Canon EF lens mounts, offering APS-C or full-frame sensor support. Among these lenses, the 15mm f/2.8 offers the ability to capture the widest perspective, with a field of view of 110°. Color fringing and distortion are minimized even with large apertures, due to its Distagon design of 15 lens elements in 12 groups, which includes two aspheric lenses. Additionally, specialized optics with anomalous partial dispersion and a floating-element design help to prevent chromatic aberrations over the entire focusing range of 9.84" to infinity. This revised model also has a removable hood for mounting 95mm filters more easily.

The 18mm f/2.8 is also a super-wide-angle Distagon lens, with a field of view of 99.9° and minimal distortion. It is constructed with 14 lens elements in 12 groups, including two aspheric lenses. Similar to the 15mm, the 18mm also features a floating-element design plus a minimum focusing distance of 9.84". Internal focusing complements its compact length of about 3.6". The 18mm f/2.8 is an excellent choice for landscape and architectural photography.
