Zeligsoft and I-Logix Sign Interoperability Agreement Targeting Software Defined Radio Development

Complementary tools provide unique offering for development of systems conforming to the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) program's Software Communications Architecture (SCA) standard

Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of market-specific embedded software development tools announced today that it has signed an interoperability and marketing agreement with I-Logix™ (http://www.ilogix.com), the leading worldwide Unified Modeling Language (UML™) based Model-Driven Development (MDD) solution provider. Under the agreement, the companies will offer interoperability between Zeligsoft's Component Enabler™ (CE) and I-Logix' Rhapsody™ MDD environments, develop product compatibility with other equipment manufacturers, and participate in cooperative sales and marketing efforts.

The agreement ensures that developers can leverage both Zeligsoft and I-Logix MDD capabilities with one integrated workflow to accelerate development and produce high-quality Software Defined Radio (SDR) systems conforming to the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) program's Software Communications Architecture (SCA) standard.

Employing the integrated tools workflow, Zeligsoft CE serves as the SCA backbone development tool. CE validates component-based software models for SCA compliance, contributes all domain-specific software artifacts-such as SCA component code, descriptor files and documentation-and provides SCA deployment observation. I-Logix Rhapsody's Systems Modeling Language (SysML) capability is based on the SysML v.91 and domain specific language capabilities, namely the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) package. SysML can be used up-front to model the radio system architecture. Rhapsody's support of UML state and structure diagrams allows the environment to support the development of implementations for individual components, as well. Since CE and Rhapsody both support UML, SCA artifacts and non-SCA artifacts can be developed using the tools in tandem. Zeligsoft CE links and compiles the software artifacts generated from the two tools, so that a fully-validated SCA compliant implementation can be brought to a target system at any time during the development process.
