Zenoss Delivers End-to-End Service Assurance for Cisco's Cloud Infrastructure

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Jul 6, 2011) - Zenoss Inc., a leading provider of management software for physical, virtual, and cloud-based IT infrastructures, today announced monitoring and management support for the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches, expanding its coverage of Cisco infrastructure to provide integrated service assurance for cloud and managed services solutions focused on service provider and large enterprise customers.

"By adding support for the Nexus 7000, we now offer end-to-end service assurance for Cisco's Cloud infrastructure stack," said Bill Karpovich, CEO of Zenoss. "Operators now have a single source for visualizing, monitoring, analyzing and operating their Cisco-based virtual infrastructure across network, server, storage and applications. With our real-time, model-driven approach, we can automatically identify service issues and pinpoint the underlying causes across the entire stack."

Zenoss Service Dynamics is a purpose-built, next-generation datacenter operations management product that unifies service assurance for key applications, business services, and infrastructures across dynamic, heterogeneous physical and virtual datacenters. By providing real-time dynamic service mappings and root cause analysis, IT operations can now move beyond individual device management and monitor the health of the critical business services they are delivering.

A key component of Zenoss Service Dynamics is unified service assurance of Cisco next generation physical and virtual multi-tenant datacenter architectures, including Nexus 7000 Switches and the Cisco UCS platform, designed for enterprises building cloud-capable infrastructure and service providers deploying an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) model. Zenoss enables IT operations to see performance and availability information for the Nexus 7000 and UCS deployments along with the IT services dependent on the devices. From the traffic statistics of an individual interface to the effect that a new UCS service profile has on a complex business service, operations can now quickly identify service issues and their root causes.

"Service assurance is one of the next big challenges in the cloud datacenter. Zenoss' latest release brings to market several cloud-focused service assurance capabilities that should be compelling for both enterprises and service providers," said Jesper Andersen, Senior Vice President, Network Management Technology Group, Cisco Systems. "From our perspective, a real-time, model-driven approach -- like that taken by Zenoss -- is the preferred way to manage service levels in the dynamic, virtualized datacenter."
