Zephyr Ventilation Launches Energy Star® Kitchen Range Hoods

Design, Innovation, Technology and Now Energy Efficiency

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - April 15, 2014) - Zephyr, the leader in ventilation hood design, innovation and technology, today announced the launch of ENERGY STAR® kitchen range hoods that use less energy, save consumers money and help the environment. The Siena Wall, Vortex One-Piece Liner and Twister Power Pack will be available in May 2014 with ENERGY STAR certified models.

ENERGY STAR is a trusted symbol for superior energy efficiency. Products that are ENERGY STAR approved must go through a rigorous certification process to meet requirements based on a set of key guiding principles and use 20-30 percent less energy than required by federal standards. The products must contribute significant energy savings nationwide, without sacrificing performance, features and comfort.

The Siena Wall, now with ENERGY STAR, is packed with power, smart technology and a professional-style design. The Siena features Zephyr's new ICON Touch™ controls that seamlessly integrate into the hood's stainless steel canopy and contribute to its sleek aesthetic. Homeowners can easily control the3-speeds, delay-off function and auto reminders. The Siena also includes a 400 CFM blower, energy efficient fluorescent lights and Airflow Control Technology (ACT ™). ACT is an exclusive technology that gives builders and developers the freedom to install range hoods with maximum blower CFM, to meet local requirements, without having to compromise power or design.

The ENERGY STAR version of Vortex is the industry's only one-piece liner hood with adjustable-depth installation dimensions. Vortex has a single stainless steel liner piece that is designed to extend up to three inches toward the front of the range hood so the installer can fit it in spaces built for a hood up to 20 ½ inches deep. Vortex features florescent lights, a baffle filter, 290-CFM blower and 36-inch mounting height that makes it stand tall among the rest.

Designed as an inexpensive and simple solution that can blend in with any canopy, the Twister with ENERGY STAR is ideal for homeowners looking to save on energy costs while hiding the ventilation that is needed beneath the customized vent hood canopy. Twister features an optional liner that extends and beautifies the hood while protecting the surrounding cabinetry. Available with a 290-CFM blower, 3 speeds and energy-efficient fluorescent lighting.

"We've worked hard to deliver products that are powerful, beautifully designed and feature the latest ventilation technology," says Luke Siow, president of Zephyr. "It's very exciting to take our hoods to the next level with ENERGY STAR certification. Consumers are becoming more conscious every day with regard to energy efficient products and Zephyr now has a solution for those that want great design and a smaller carbon footprint."
