ZetrOZ, Inc., Maker of Wearable Bio-Electronic Device for Pain, Honored With 2015 Medical Design Excellence Bronze Award

TRUMBULL, CT--(Marketwired - Jun 15, 2015) - ZetrOZ, Inc. is pleased to announce that sam® Professional System, its bio-electronic device, has been awarded the Bronze Medal in the Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Products Category of the 18th Annual Medical Design Excellence Awards competition. Winners, selected from a group of 45 finalists in 10 medical technology product categories, were announced at the 2015 MDEA Ceremony in conjunction with the MD&M East event held on June 9th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

sam® Professional System delivers sustained acoustic medicine for the treatment of select medical conditions such as the relief of pain, the relief of muscle spasm, the treatment of joint contracture and to increase local blood circulation. It received FDA clearance in the U.S. for up to four hours of continuous daily therapeutic intervention under the FDA's new wearable ultrasound product category (PFW). sam® also has received the CE Mark and Canada License, and is a Class II medical device in Singapore and Malaysia. In the non-U.S. markets, it is also indicated for healing.

sam® addresses the growing demand for non-pharmaceutical and bio-regenerative alternatives to pharma-based pain treatments in the approximately $62 billion U.S. pain management market. It is used by a wide range of individuals who work in labor-intensive jobs, including professional athletes, looking to more effectively manage chronic pain and improve recovery of overuse injuries such as tendinopathies and muscle strains.

"Recognition by the MDEA will help drive greater awareness of sam® and the important role that sustained acoustic medicine can play in the management of chronic pain," said George K. Lewis, Jr., Ph.D., co-founder and chief science & technology officer. "Millions of pain sufferers around the world are looking for drug-free alternatives to ease their pain and may benefit from the effectiveness and convenience offered by sam®."
