Ziehm Academy-Ziehm Imaging's New Education Centre With a Worldwide Presence Will Officially Be Launched at the Beginning of 2008

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS--(Marketwire - Nov. 26, 2007) - Ziehm Imaging is proud to present the launch of the Ziehm Academy, its training centre for various clinical applications with a global presence. The first training course has already taken place at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Spartanburg, South Carolina on October 27th under the education leadership of Anthony Anderson RTR. Altogether, 55 participants were representing 19 medical facilities. Attendees were trained on Intra-operative Vascular Imaging procedures being performed today with mobile c-arms.

In October 2007, Ziehm Academy USA launched the Ziehm Mobile Learning Lab. The Mobile Learning Lab allows for the Ziehm Academy to partner with the medical community to provide in-depth and focused application trainings for the medical staff. The first Mobile Learning Lab was held in partnership with the East Texas Society of Radiologic Technologist in Tyler TX on November 3rd, 2007 with altogether 87 attendees. The second course was held in partnership with Kaiser Permente Hospital's RadFest in Portland Oregon on November 13th, 2007 with a total of 116 participants.

From 2008 onwards, three main categories of training will be offered by the Ziehm Academy: The clinical and application training; an intense product course, which will be practised in form of a hands-on and in-depth training on the whole Ziehm Imaging product range and its clinical applications. In addition to this, technical service trainings will be offered - courses which are designed in particular for all technical and service related matters of the mobile C-arms. Special courses and workshops i.e. courses regarding to new applications and Interventional Radiology can be found in the official training schedule.

One of the highlights in Germany is the new partnership with the centre for applied radiological research at the University Hospital Giessen and Marburg in Germany. Starting in February 2008, the hospital is offering the practical part of their official and certified mandatory radiation protection courses through the Ziehm Academy.

"One of the main objectives of the Ziehm Academy is to provide our employees as well as external partners on the open market with the highest standard of education in order to understand their customers' clinical workflows and, therefore, their requirements. Only those who know their customers needs well, can offer tailored made solutions to their daily work", says Manuela Muller-Gerndt, Vice President for Corporate Strategy at Ziehm Imaging and co-initiator of this project. "Furthermore, we are setting up different partnerships such as the latest one with the University Hospital in Marburg to provide a widespread and diverse network to our customers", so Muller-Gerndt.

A long-term partnership for education and research has been established at the Orthopaedic Research Foundation located at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Spartanburg South Carolina. The Clinic has positioned itself as one of the largest, most productive and innovative, independent orthopaedic research organizations in the world and has profoundly influenced the practice of orthopaedics -from diagnosis to rehabilitation. Ziehm Imaging is therefore a co-sponsor for clinical education and research in Spartanburg. "We are proud of creating so much interest in our first education courses, offered in Spartanburg by the Ziehm Academy", said Anthony Anderson, one of the initiators and teachers in charge of clinical application trainings. "With the efficient use of cutting-edge-technology in the clinical environment we contribute to exciting advancements in surgical techniques and Best Practices for different clinical disciplines that will be used by our customers everywhere", Anderson explained.

A set of fixed trainings will be held in Nuremberg, Berlin, Munich, Riverside, and Spartanburg. The flexible structure of the ZA enables education requirements to be tailored regionally, covering different requirements globally.
