ZL Technologies' Unified Archive(R) Earns DoD 5015.02 Re-Certification for Records Management

Coveted Certification Set Forth by the US Department of Defense Is the Gold-Standard Information Management Protocol

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 16, 2015) - ZL Technologies, Inc. (ZL), the leader in comprehensive enterprise information governance and analytics, today announced that its flagship platform, ZL Unified Archive® (ZL UA), has again earned DoD 5015.02 certification for records management capabilities from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). This year's certification represents the second time that ZL UA has earned the coveted distinction, as the government requires vendors to re-test all major records product releases in order to retain certification.

The DoD 5015.02 certification remains the highest standard for long-term records management, representing some of the most stringent security and data control requirements in the world. It is officially endorsed by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for use by U.S. federal agencies, and all vendors pursuing certification must pass exhaustive testing and stringent verification by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). ZL UA records functionality once again meets these standards, with full certification for files, documents, MS Exchange email, Google Mail (Gmail), IMs, and other unstructured content.

The governmental need to securely control unstructured data is more pressing than ever. In 2012, the Managing Government Records Directive (M-12-18) set a new precedent for the comprehensive management of digital content within federal agencies by 2019, further underscoring the need for a common management framework for both traditional records and non-traditional items such as email and instant messages. NARA, which uses ZL UA as a critical component of its model "Capstone" approach for email records management, acts as a critical leader in this process, developing actionable standards and best practices that can be applied by other agencies as they work towards the Directive's deadlines.

"A unified approach to information governance is the only truly sustainable way to satisfy the exacting standards demanded by DoD 5015.02 requirements," commented Kon Leong, CEO of ZL Technologies. "We're proud that the Unified Archive® has once again achieved this gold standard of performance, backed by proven deployments in leading federal agencies."
