Zocalo Tech Forms Technical Advisory Board, Appoints EDA Verification Expert Brian Bailey as Its First Member

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - November 9, 2010) -  Zocalo Tech, Inc., an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) company focused on Assertion-Based Verification (ABV) productivity software, announced that it has formed a Technical Advisory Board (TAB) to advise the company on verification research trends, provide expert guidance for product development and educate the market about Zocalo's ABV software, Zazz™. Brian Bailey, an EDA verification expert, is Zocalo Tech's first TAB member.

Brian Bailey is a world-renowned verification industry veteran and visionary, having contributed to the early development of Register Transfer Level (RTL) simulation, hardware emulation, hardware/software co-design, transaction-level modeling and emerging Electronic System Level (ESL) methodologies.

"Brian Bailey is the perfect first choice for our TAB," stated Zocalo Tech President, Howard Martin. "As one of the industry's leading verification experts and contributors, he brings a broad perspective to our on-going technical development."

"I love working with verification startups," said Brian Bailey. "I also believe strongly that Zocalo has put together the right team and introduced the right products to make it easier to adopt a systematic approach to using assertions to reduce both re-spins and debug time."

Brian Bailey is an industry and management consultant specializing in the functional verification of electronic systems. He has experience implementing verification tools and solutions for companies of all sizes, and has been involved in some of the most significant advances in the field. He has been proclaimed as one of the visionaries of the industry and today spends most of his time helping start-up companies turn their ideas into practical realities. He has published technical books on the topic of EDA verification and is a popular contributor to publications and conferences. He graduated from Brunel University in England with a first class honors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Zocalo Tech's Zazz software simplifies and supports the adoption of an ABV methodology to improve electronic design and Intellectual Property (IP) quality and increase verification productivity. Zazz addresses the major issues that have kept ABV from wide scale acceptance.
